Bluebird K7 The Festival Updates

The Bluebird K7 Festival is being held from the 11th – 17th May 2026 and we are currently putting the final details of the week’s itinerary together.

Once all details have been finalised we will publish them here and on our Bluebird K7 The Festival Facebook page.

So a little bit of a summary and to clarify a few things that have been asked.

  • 11th – 17th May 2026 are the dates of Bluebird K7 – The Festival
  • The daytime activities will be between 10am and 5pm Monday – Sunday.
  • The location is The Boating Centre, Lake Road, LA21 8AN – signs with directions to the event will be in place.
  • We cannot say which day K7 will run in advance, running her is weather dependant, so it will be a case of checking the weather each day and deciding if it is safe to do so. This is why we have chosen May because historically the weather is good, if we have perfect weather we will run her every day, if possible.
  • Car parking is available near to the site, tickets are available here: https://bluebirdk7thefestival.co.uk/on-site-parking/
  • For Health and Safety reasons there will be NO parking on site. We are expecting a lot of people and we cannot have vehicles driving up and down with that many people around. Please understand this is in place to keep everyone safe.
  • If you are staying in the village, you won’t be stopped from getting to your accommodation. You will be able to walk to the Boating Centre

⛔️🚧 Various Roads – Coniston (Bluebird K7 Event) 🚧⛔️

Sections of various roads will be subject to temporary traffic restrictions whilst an event (Bluebird K7) is held on Coniston Water.
This is anticipated to take place over 7 days.
Multiple restrictions will be in place across Coniston, including:

 

⚠️ Road closures:
  • ⛔️ C5018 (east side of the lake)
  • Access will be maintained for Brantwood, all car parks, for residents and businesses
  • ⛔️ StationRoad from the A593
  • Access to Old Furness Road, Walna Scar Road, and The Banks will be maintained via SunHill.
  • ⛔️ Lake Road from the A593
Access for JohnRuskinSchool, LakeRoadBusinessPark, and all properties will be maintained.
Access will also be maintained for those who have paid for parking through the RuskinMuseum.

 

⬆️ One-way restrictions:
  • C5006 (eastbound only)
  • ShepherdsBridgeLane (south-westerly direction only)
🅿️ No waiting/loading restrictions:
No parking cones will be in place at all locations listed below:
  • A5084 from the junction with A593 (Torver), running to Sunny Bank
  • A593 from the junction with A5084, through Coniston, and ending past Coniston Council Depot
  • Station Road from the junction with A593 heading towards Old Furness Road
  • Lake Road from the junction with A593 down to Coniston Boating Centre
  • B5285 from Coniston up Hawkshead Hill, ending at High Cross
⚠️ Alternative Route:
  • Signed diversion routes will be in place, including via #U5082, #A5084 (Water Yeat), #A593 (Torver), #BroughtonRoad, #B5285, #YewdaleRoad, and #StationRoad, depending on the specific restriction.
  • 🚲 A route for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
  • ⚠️ Access WILL be maintained throughout all closures for residents.
  • ⚠️ Access WILL be maintained to the east side of the lake for #Brantwood and resident access only.
🚨 Emergency Services:
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained where required for the duration of this restriction.
